Stony Stone

Between French rap and 2‑step influences, Stony Stone has been shaping an identity since the early 2020s marked by melancholic atmospheres and brisk tempos. Hailing from the Bouches‑du‑Rhône département, he began attracting attention in 2022 with a series of freestyles released online, where his introspective writing merges with 2‑step‑inspired rhythms he has been exploring intensely since 2021 after several years working in more traditional rap styles. This evolution led him to hone a sound in which flow changes, direct lyrics and the contrast between rhythmic energy and melancholic tone define an aesthetic between rap and club music. Building on that exposure, Stony Stone became the first artist signed to the Good to Great label, founded by New Pirelli and Vincent Le Nen, and was featured in Booska‑P’s 2023 selection “11 rappers to follow,” positioning him within the new generation of French rap.
