Jaymee

In Lille, Jaymee has been developing since the lockdown a musical path at the crossroads of French rap, melodic trap and new jazz, with background influences from 2000s British rock and 2010s rap. Of English origin, Jaymee began composing independently before refining her sound on productions by, among others, Bywam and Strike, seeking a flexible form where singing, rapping and melodies circulate without clear boundaries. Her early tracks are rooted in a trap aesthetic; her writing then evolved toward a lighter, more rhythmic and melodic formula, carried by mobile flows and immediate choruses. The Brand New Jazz trilogy accompanied this emergence phase, prior to the release of My Way in 2024 and subsequent tracks Batman, Maya l’Abeille, Bright and Tout le monde autour. Jaymee then broadened her palette with Ça c’est du run and Ça c’est du run 2, two projects that also introduce collaborations with Furlax, Birdie and Thahomey. Between the Lille scene, Paris dates and live formats, Jaymee has been shaping an approach that blends spontaneity, flow energy and airy productions.
