Zach Top

Trained in the roots music scene of the U.S. Pacific Northwest, Zach Top has established himself as a singer and country singer-songwriter rooted in a neo-traditional aesthetic. Hailing from Washington state and now based in Nashville, he began in bluegrass-oriented bands before refocusing his writing on classic country, favoring song formats led by guitar, fiddle and pedal steel. From the early 2020s a string of singles brought him attention on the American honky-tonk circuit and sent him out on the road—playing clubs, country dance halls and regional festivals. His first full-length album, Cold Beer & Country Music (2024), places Zach Top in a register drawing from both honky-tonk tradition and 1980s–1990s country radio, with a marked taste for brisk two-steps, bar ballads and everyday rural narratives. In studio and onstage he favors direct, melodic arrangements centered on voice and storytelling, building a repertoire that alternates upbeat dance numbers with slower songs about the road, relationships and small-town life.
