Mr. V

Born in Manhattan and linked to the Lower East Side's Nuyorican culture, Mr. V, real name Victor Font, has since the early 2000s developed a path that sits at the intersection of New York house, club music and hip-hop heritage. First spotted in Louie Vega's circle in the 1990s, he then builds an identity where production, DJing and voice occupy an equal place, with a spoken word or rap phrasing that sits into deep, soulful and dancefloor-oriented house rhythms. Mr. V also brings this aesthetic to life through his Sole Channel Music and Muzik 4 Tomorrow labels, which accompany regular activity as a producer and publisher. His debut album Welcome Home was released in 2006 on Defected Records and lays the groundwork for a sound blending house pulsation, Latin influences and New York urban energy. Over the years, Mr. V moves between house, deep house and tech house scenes, both solo and through targeted collaborations, notably with Steve Bug on The Long Run in 2013, and then with Roger Sanchez for the EP 6 AM in 2016. This trajectory makes Mr. V a lasting name in American house, with a direct approach to groove and voice, rooted in the history of New York clubs.
