Dean Brody

Born in Smithers and raised in Jaffray, British Columbia, Dean Brody has developed a songwriting style rooted in North American country, situated between everyday storytelling, acoustic folk and contemporary country production. After a stint in Nashville in the mid-2000s working as a songwriter, he emerged under his own name with the single «Brothers», followed by his self-titled debut album in 2009. Established on the Canadian country scene, he went on to release Trail in Life (2010), Dirt (2012), Crop Circles (2013), Gypsy Road (2015) and Beautiful Freakshow (2016), while steering his repertoire toward a more direct approach in which acoustic guitars, radio-friendly choruses and rural themes remain central. Dean Brody later released the EP Black Sheep in 2019 and the albums Boys in 2020 and Right Round Here in 2023. Over the years he has also collaborated with other Canadian country artists, notably The Reklaws and Jade Eagleson, as well as with Mickey Guyton, pursuing a career that balances songwriting, country radio and touring across Canada.
