Brett Kissel

Born in St. Paul, in northeastern Alberta, in 1990, Brett Kissel grew up on his family’s ranch, where he discovered North American country music at an early age. A singer-songwriter, Kissel works in a contemporary country vein that blends traditional influences with pop and light rock, giving prominent space to stories of rural life, family ties, and the landscapes of Western Canada. After several independent recordings in his teens, he entered the professional circuit in the early 2010s and signed with Warner Music Canada, which led to the albums "Started with a Song" (2013), "Pick Me Up" (2015), "We Were That Song" (2017), followed by "Now or Never" (2020) and "What Is Life?" (2021). Splitting his time between Alberta and Nashville, Kissel alternates acoustic ballads with more up-tempo, stage-ready tracks, tours extensively across Canada, and appears at major North American country festivals. Occasional collaborations with artists such as Carolyn Dawn Johnson punctuate a career built around radio-friendly songs, co-writing, and a deliberate grounding in the Canadian country scene.
