The Cinematic Orchestra returns to Paris on 21 April 2027 at the Élysée Montmartre with Counting Backwards, a new tour that shines a light once again on what makes the strength of the collective led by Jason Swinscoe. Since the late 1990s, the group has been forging a distinctive sound, between nu-jazz, downtempo and electronic, with a taste for expansive arrangements and film-score atmospheres.
On stage, it is a fluid ensemble where acoustics and texture work in dialogue: jazz improvisations, bass pulsations, cinematic soundscapes, guest vocals whenever invited, and those layered build-ups that give the impression that a track is being crafted before our eyes. From Motion to To Believe, and including Ma Fleur, their journey has refined this writing that is both precise and open. In Paris, Counting Backwards promises a performance full of tension and room to breathe, carried by music that knows how to tell a story without the need for words.
