Info
Named after a 9th-century Indian saint and poet king, Kula Shaker have always sounded slightly out of time and out of place, in the best way. When they first cut through the Britpop era, they came with a different kind of charge: Sanskrit mantras, sitar and tabla colours, and walls of psychedelic guitar that nodded to late-60s Britain as much as to Indian devotional music. Led by Crispian Mills, the band’s songs move between punchy rock riffs and more hypnotic, chant-like passages, where the spiritual themes feel woven into the music rather than pasted on.
On March 20, 2027, at Troxy in London, expect a set that leans into that signature blend: melodic hooks, restless grooves, and that heady push-and-pull between raw band energy and a more meditative atmosphere. Whether you came in through “Hey Dude”, “Govinda”, or the deeper cuts, this show is built for getting lost in the swirl and snapping back to a chorus you didn’t realise you knew by heart.
