Built around the voice and writing of Elias Bender Rønnenfelt, the band has always moved fast: early records like New Brigade and You’re Nothing hit with a dry, abrasive edge rooted in punk, noise rock, and no wave, all tension and sharp turns.
Over time, Iceage have stretched the frame without sanding off the corners. Plowing Into the Field of Love opens the sound toward art-punk and gothic-leaning melodies, while Beyondless and Seek Shelter push into a broader rock palette where dark balladry, bluesy textures, and post-punk bite can sit in the same song.
