On February 13, 2027, at Backstage & O'Sullivans By The Mill in Paris, Mothica is set to unveil a new phase of her project, carried by the EP Somewhere In Between. Behind this name, McKenzie Ellis continues to write with raw, emotional honesty, in her distinctive manner of marrying dark pop with the heft of heavier rock. Tracks such as WEAPON, Save Your Roses, and Evergreen Misery mark a rougher turn, with guitars taking more space without relinquishing the melodies.
On stage, Mothica turns her intimate narratives into direct songs, often dealing with mental health, addiction and survival, from Forever Fifteen to Buzzkill. After years of navigating between alternative pop, emo and electronic textures, she now pushes the contrast even further: bolder, more front-facing vocals, harsher tension, and writing that lands with precision. A show conceived as an outlet, as much as a bare unveiling.
