SiM

Formed in 2004 in the Shonan area of Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, SiM (short for Silence iz Mine) established itself on the Japanese loud rock scene with a tight blend of metalcore, nu metal and alternative rock, infused with ska punk, reggae rock, dub and hip-hop elements. Around vocalist MAH, the band adopted its current four-piece line-up in 2009 with SHOW-HATE on guitar, SIN on bass and GODRi on drums. After their debut album Silence iz Mine (2008), SiM refined its identity on Seeds of Hope (2011), then broadened its audience with Pandora (2013) and The Beautiful People (2016), where their songwriting alternates heavy riffs, syncopated rhythms and more melodic choruses. SiM has performed both on Japanese rock circuits and on large stages — from the Budokan to Yokohama Arena — sharing bills with acts such as Coldrain and One OK Rock and appearing internationally, notably at Ozzfest meets Knotfest in the United States. The band continued this trajectory with Thank God, There Are Hundreds of Ways to Kill Enemies (2020), the EP Beware (2022) and Playdead (2023). SiM also reached a wider audience with 'The Rumbling' (2022) and 'Under the Tree' (2023), two tracks associated with the anime Attack on Titan.
