Amble

Amble is an Irish folk trio that has been developing an acoustic signature since the early 2020s: voices and guitars at the centre, restrained tempos and lyrics in the foreground. Their songs rest on simple structures, multi-part melodies and spare arrangements. The palette moves between contemporary folk and indie folk, close to tradition but with a modern slant. Themes such as relationships, vulnerability and everyday life recur in direct, clear language. The project began online with a series of tracks on streaming platforms and later took shape on stage in small venues and independent spaces in Ireland; live they often perform in a pared-down lineup that preserves the intimacy.

On 1 March 2027 Amble will play at Melkweg, Amsterdam. The show focuses on harmonies, acoustic guitars and mid-tempo songs, leaving room for lyrics and melody. Expect restrained choices that let the voices speak and arrangements that remain true to the essence. A compact set-up, without excess, that works both for attentive listening and for a live venue—somewhere between contemporary folk and indie folk, clear and direct.
