Kingfishr

Formed in Limerick, Ireland, during their university years, Kingfishr brings together singer‑guitarist Eddie Keogh with bandmates McGoo and Fitz in a trio rooted in the contemporary Irish folk and indie scene. Since the early 2020s, Kingfishr has been developing a songwriting approach that mixes melodic folk, alternative rock accents and touches of indie pop, with prominent vocal harmonies and arrangements centred on acoustic guitar, restrained percussion and lyrics focused on landscapes, family ties and coming of age. The band first gained attention by sharing tracks online before releasing a series of singles, including “Flowers‑Fire” and “Anyway”, which established the project’s sonic palette around expansive choruses and gradual build‑ups. Alongside this single‑by‑single discography, Kingfishr has been gigging across Ireland and the UK, moving from small venues to festival stages and honing a deliberately direct and accessible live aesthetic.
