Info
On 19 June 2026, Dreamland Margate hosts a double bill: Garbage and Skunk Anansie, with Du Blonde in support. A night of wired guitars, electronics and sharp songwriting across three generations of UK/US alternative rock.
Garbage formed in Madison in 1993, uniting producers Butch Vig, Duke Erikson and Steve Marker with Scottish singer Shirley Manson. Their live set moves between abrasive guitars, programmed beats and sleek hooks, drawing from their self-titled debut and Version 2.0 through to No Gods No Masters. The studio craft is there, but on stage it turns physical: electronic textures, shadowy pop undercurrents, and Manson’s cool, incisive delivery.
Skunk Anansie came out of London in 1994 with Skin, Ace, Cass and Mark Richardson, a tight knot of alt rock, hard rock and punk. Lyrics tackle power and identity, riffs stay direct, and Skin’s voice flips from clear melodies to a harsher edge. Expect a set spanning the first trilogy to their 2010s return, packed with tension and groove.
Opening, Du Blonde channels Beth Jeans Houghton’s shape-shifting songwriting into lean, fuzzed-up songs that pull from psych, garage and punk. The latest chapter, Sniff More Gritty (2024), keeps it raw and melodic, setting the tone before the two headliners take over.
