Info
Red Rum Club play Rock City, Nottingham, on 9 October 2026. Born in Crosby, Merseyside, the band came together in 2016 from several local outfits and first stood out as a six-piece with a trumpet that cut a clear line through their tight, melodic rock. Their sound sits between alternative and indie rock, brushes against indie pop and americana, and leans on front-and-center basslines, direct guitars and uncluttered hooks. That brass touch sometimes hinted at mariachi; in 2026, with the departure of trumpeter Joe Corby, the group opens a new chapter on stage.
Across five albums — Matador (2019), The Hollow of Humdrum (2020), How to Steal the World (2021), Western Approaches (2024) and Buck (2025) — Red Rum Club have widened their writing while keeping a Liverpool-bred backbone. They’ve appeared at Glastonbury, Isle of Wight, Kendal Calling and Liverpool Sound City, and toured with Blossoms and The Wombats. This Nottingham date folds that journey into a live set shaped by taut rhythms, ringing guitars and choruses that hit straight on.
