Info
Will Oldham arrives in London as Bonnie "Prince" Billy on 17 November 2026 at O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire. Since the late 90s, the Louisville songwriter has shaped an intimate folk that leans into country and Americana, with a fragile voice, spare guitars and narratives that weigh doubt, faith, love and a certain rural gravity. After his Palace Brothers and Palace Music years, he settled into the Bonnie "Prince" Billy moniker and built a catalog that quietly stuck: I See a Darkness (1999), Ease Down the Road (2001), Master and Everyone (2003), followed by The Letting Go, Beware and Wolfroy Goes to Town. Along the way, he’s multiplied collaborations, from the duo Superwolf with Matt Sweeney to sessions with Tortoise.
On stage, he keeps the frame simple and close, letting the words carry the room. Ballads arrive unvarnished, often reduced to voice and a few chords, opening space for small shifts of tone and silence. The set draws broadly across his songbook, early staples alongside newer pieces, with arrangements that hold back the excess and bring the stories forward. A night for the quiet burn of songs that don’t rush, and a writer who knows how to let them breathe.
