The View celebrate 20 years of Hats Off to the Buskers on 9 April 2027 at Barrowland Ballroom, Glasgow. Formed in Dundee in the mid-2000s, Kyle Falconer, Kieren Webster and Pete Reilly shaped a lean, melodic indie rock that folds punk urgency, power pop and folk rock into songs built on clear, direct melodies, carried by a distinctly Scottish phrasing. Breakout singles Wasted Little DJs and Same Jeans pushed their debut onto the national map, before Which Bitch?, Bread and Circuses, Cheeky for a Reason, Ropewalk and 2023’s Exorcism of Youth traced the next steps. After a pause, the band regrouped in 2022 with Jay Sharrock on drums, tightening the core around Falconer, Webster and Reilly. For this anniversary show, The View revisit the tracks that started it all and draw from the rest of their catalogue too, with brisk guitars, direct choruses and the pub‑bred energy that has always framed their sound.
