Info
On 14 August 2026, The Piece Hall in Halifax welcomes Jimmy Eat World as they mark 25 years of Bleed American, joined by Rise Against for a night that leans on melody, guitars and urgency.
Formed in Mesa in 1993, Jimmy Eat World refined a sound that moved from indie emo roots toward lean alternative rock. Bleed American (2001) was the pivot: sharp riffs, clear vocals and choruses built for collective release. Expect a set that revisits the spirit of that record and threads it with later milestones from Futures to Surviving, keeping the balance between driving power-pop energy and more reflective turns. Jim Adkins and his bandmates bring arrangements where the guitars stay front and center without crowding the melodies.
From Chicago, Rise Against come with the tension and tuneful bite of melodic hardcore. Tim McIlrath’s voice rides fast tempos and mid-tempo breaks, while the rhythm section locks tight around punchy bass lines. Their songs tap into social and personal fault lines without losing focus on hooks, drawing across albums from Siren Song of the Counter Culture to Nowhere Generation. The pairing promises a direct, high-contrast dialogue between urgency and melody.
