Zebrahead
Formed in La Habra, California, in the mid-1990s, Zebrahead developed a blend of pop-punk, melodic punk rock and rap-rock characterized by shared vocals alternating between rapped and sung parts. The band centers on Ali Tabatabaee, Ben Osmundson and Ed Udhus, with several changes over the years among guitarists and co‑singers—from Justin Mauriello to Matty Lewis and later Adrian Estrella—that introduced different inflections to their writing without departing from a foundation built on catchy choruses and fast tempos. Starting with Waste of Mind (1998), then Playmate of the Year (2000) and MFZB (2003), their discography expanded with Broadcast to the World (2006), Phoenix (2008), Get Nice! (2011), Call Your Friends (2013), Walk the Plank (2015) and Brain Invaders (2019), where heavier guitars, touches of ska-punk and a taste for collective vocal harmonies became more prominent. Regularly present on the Vans Warped Tour and on stages across Europe and Japan, Zebrahead has toured extensively in clubs and festivals and undertaken occasional collaborations with alternative rock acts, notably the Japanese band Man With A Mission.
