The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus

Born in Middleburg, Florida, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus formed in the early 2000s around singer Ronnie Winter and is part of the American emo, post-hardcore and alternative rock wave of that period. The band developed a direct sound built on nervous guitars, melodic choruses and a constant tension between pop-punk sensibility and harsher energy. The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus broke through with the album Don’t You Fake It in 2006, notably with the tracks “Face Down” and “Your Guardian Angel”, and followed with Lonely Road in 2009, Am I the Enemy in 2011 and 4 in 2014. Despite several lineup changes, the group has remained centered on Ronnie Winter’s songwriting and continues to move between melodic rock, emo and post-hardcore, including the EP The Awakening in 2018. Active on the American rock touring circuit, particularly around the Warped Tour, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus retains a sound tied to the 2000s alternative scene while at times steering toward tighter, sometimes acoustic, arrangements.
