John Vincent III

John Vincent III brings his indie folk songs to The Academy in Dublin on 20 May 2026. Raised in Houston before moving to Los Angeles, he has shaped a lean, acoustic-first writing style built around voice, guitar and understated arrangements. Since the mid-2010s, he has released tracks that favor slow tempos, fingerpicking patterns and light touches of keys or strings, with lyrics circling relationships, memory and the shift into adulthood.

His debut album, Blue Boy (2019), fixed a hushed sound with minimal production, while Songs for the Canyon (2023) opened the palette a little without stepping away from closeness and melody. On stage, he performs solo or with a small band, keeping the focus on the grain of the voice and the guitar’s pulse, with space left for the songs to breathe. This Dublin date folds older material and newer pieces into a set that stays true to the intimate, songwriter approach that has defined his path so far.
