Hans Williams
Born and raised in Vermont, Hans Williams was shaped by a musical environment where Al Green’s soul, Tracy Chapman’s songwriting, Steely Dan’s polished pop and James Brown’s funk coexisted — family touchstones that still run through his work. Having settled in New Orleans after coming there to study, Hans Williams has developed an independent singer‑songwriter approach rooted in restrained indie folk, guitar‑centered, with soul inflections and a deliberately spare production aesthetic. His raspy voice, often placed up front, accompanies songs that turn inward toward intimacy, catharsis and the uncertain zones of everyday life. Across his releases, his name has circulated through singles like "All Is Well", "Checklist" and "Willows", which have accompanied his emergence to a wider audience. His trajectory is also part of the North American live scene, with band shows and a first headlining tour that extended his gradual establishment between his native Vermont and New Orleans’ musical life.
