Melanie Martinez will bring Hades: The Sacrifice to the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam on 9 September 2026. The artist, who grew up in New York, has been creating her own pop universe since 2012, where dark pop, electropop and art pop converge, with touches of hip‑hop and R&B. After “Dollhouse” and the album Cry Baby came K‑12 — accompanied by a film she wrote and directed — the EP After School and Portals, on which her sound became more organic, rock‑oriented and experimental. Characters, narratives and carefully constructed visual worlds form a recurring thread throughout that body of work.
On stage Martinez works with image as much as with sound: makeup, costume and stage design support the songs and give shape to her stories. Hades: The Sacrifice thus represents a new chapter in her narrative approach, a show that tightly intertwines music and imagery while leaving room for material from Cry Baby, K‑12, After School and Portals.
