Happy 30: Katapult

Delighted to see you again at À La Folie on Saturday, April 11. We celebrated part of our 20th anniversary at Rémy’s place; he’s hosting us again for our 30th. Coincidentally, À La Folie is celebrating its 10th anniversary — a journey marked by celebration, conviviality and queer commitment, in an original, multifaceted venue. We’ve known Rémy since our respective beginnings at the Rex Club; he’s looked after us, invited us onto various projects, and we feel at home there — not to put our feet on the table, but to feel comfortable, safe and at ease.

We’ve brought Move D for the occasion, a producer and DJ who has been active for more than thirty years. Listening to the album “Kunststoff” would be enough to convince anyone, but that would narrow the view of his creative range: he’s explored the borders of dance and electronica on Source, his own label, on Warp, and later into house territories; he’s released on Uzuri, Philpot, Workshop, Underground Quality, Smallville and others. Move D has worked with Pete Namlook and with Jonas Grossmann in Deep Space Network, continually evolving his output.

Our Charles Hascoet, a graduate of the Kata training centre — whose stint emptying Thomas Brinkmann’s boxes as a 3ème work placement at Katapult set him off on the right foot — has built a solid repertoire. We’ve had him play in many venues and he has held his own. He is one of the pillars of the Katapult family.
