Laurence Guy

Based in London, British producer and DJ Laurence Guy has developed since the mid-2010s a personal take on house that blends deep textures with soul, jazz and downtempo influences. First noticed via a series of maxis on labels such as Church, and later on Shall Not Fade and Mule Musiq, Laurence Guy gradually made his mark on the European electronic scene with releases combining vocal loops, piano motifs, subdued rhythms and more introspective moods. His first full-length album, “Saw You For The First Time” (2017), established the foundations of a language that unfolds further on “The Sun Is Warm And Directly Above You” (2020), leaning toward a more contemplative house, and on “Losing My Way” (2023), where the producer introduced more song formats and vocal collaborations. At the same time, Laurence Guy has developed DJ sets oriented toward melodic, warm house—often punctuated by breakbeat or ambient passages—which have placed him within a network of clubs and festivals in the UK and internationally. With his project and label Accidental Pieces, Laurence Guy also explores freer formats between electronica and listening music while remaining rooted in a club culture inherited from London’s scenes.
