Info
Black Label Society hits Midway Music Hall in Edmonton on March 22, 2026, with Zakk Sabbath also on the bill. Founded in Los Angeles in 1998 by guitarist and singer Zakk Wylde, longtime ally of Ozzy Osbourne, the band drives a heavy metal rooted in classic hard rock, with southern hues and electric ballads. Around Wylde, who shapes most of the writing and the sound, the lineup shifts but often includes bassist John DeServio, and a tight four-piece on stage. From Sonic Brew in 1999 to The Blessed Hellride, Mafia and Doom Crew Inc., the group has built a catalogue of thick riffs, mid-tempo grooves and stretched solos, switching from darker atmospheres to almost acoustic breaks, carried by a gravelly yet tuneful voice.
Zakk Sabbath is Wylde’s power-trio devoted to the early catalog of Black Sabbath. Formed in the mid-2010s, it leans into the hard rock, doom and blues roots of those tracks, with a rotating cast of bassists and drummers from the metal circuit. After a run of stage-first shows, the trio recorded Vertigo in 2020, a front-to-back recreation of the first Sabbath album. The set brings massive riffs, slowed-down tempos and a raw, live approach that keeps the focus on the essential punch of classic heavy metal.
