Built around singer-guitarist Jason McCoy with Clayton Bellamy and bassist Scott Brown, The Road Hammers plug a gritty country rock into the mythology of the highway. Since their 2005 debut, the trio has lined up trucker tales, mid-tempo ballads and riff-heavy choruses across albums like Wheels and The Squeeze.
Formed in Manitoba in the mid-90s, Doc Walker centres the voices and guitars of Chris Thorsteinson and Dave Wasyliw. Their contemporary country leans on close harmonies and a mix of roots and rock, heard across records from Good Day to Ride to Weathervane.
Ontario-born Michelle Wright has been a steady presence since the late '80s, moving between Canada and Nashville. From Now and Then to 2022's Milestone, she threads radio-friendly melodies and intimate storytelling with a direct, clear vocal style.
