John Morgan
Born in North Carolina, John Morgan trained very early in the bluegrass world by playing in the family band on the festival circuit, before settling in Nashville and developing a writing rooted in contemporary country there. His repertoire blends country rock, mainstream country and bluegrass accents, with a direct approach, marked by themes of work, daily life and relationships. Initially identified as a songwriter, John Morgan signed several songs for Jason Aldean, including “If I Didn’t Love You” with Carrie Underwood, nominated for Grammy Awards, as well as “Trouble with a Heartbreak” and “Whiskey Drink,” and his songs have also been recorded by Thomas Rhett, Dustin Lynch or Jon Pardi. Parallel to this writing work, John Morgan launched his own performer career with the single “Friends Like That” in collaboration with Jason Aldean, then released the Carolina Blue album in 2024. On stage, John Morgan has notably shared tours with Jason Aldean, Kane Brown, Riley Green, ERNEST and Brantley Gilbert, in a format that extends his writing: a sturdy, melodic and no-nonsense country, fed as much by his Southern US roots as by Nashville's current codes.
