Corey Kent

Born in Bixby, Oklahoma, and associated with the Frisco scene in Texas, Corey Kent crafts contemporary country tinged with country rock, centered on crisp guitars, direct melodies and songwriting rooted in the roads of the American South. Very early on he learned the stage with a western swing band, touring from childhood for several years before moving closer to Nashville as a teenager to write and seek his first professional foothold. After a spell in Tennessee and a return to Texas just before the pandemic, Corey Kent hit the road again in Texas and Oklahoma clubs, aligning with a live circuit close to red dirt and Texas country, notably opening for artists like Randy Rogers Band, Parker McCollum and Cody Johnson. That momentum accompanied the release of Long Way in 2016 and 21 in 2021, propelled by the single Wild as Her, which significantly broadened his audience. Signed to RCA Nashville in 2022, he then issued Blacktop in 2023 and Black Bandana in 2024, confirming a palette between modern country, road rock and autobiographical storytelling.
