Blake Whiten
Born in Six Mile, a small town in northern South Carolina, Blake Whiten draws heavily on that rural setting to shape songwriting steeped in childhood memories, landscapes, and everyday scenes. Based in Nashville since 2024, he works within a country vein rooted in American tradition, marked by slow ballads, sentimental storytelling, and a deliberate preference for sad songs. After several years of posting covers of country and rock songs on social media — including a first cover of “Porch Swing Angel” by Muscadine Bloodline in 2021 — he attracted professional attention in 2024 with a series of videos that led to increased writing sessions in Nashville. Blake Whiten made his name as a singer-songwriter with tracks like “Breakin’ My Heart” and “Rollin’ Stone,” where a slightly husky voice blends with spare acoustic guitars and storytelling that centers on emotion. At the same time, he penned “Holding On” for Bailey Zimmerman in 2024, confirming his arrival in country-writing circles. His debut EP, “Six Mile,” released in 2025, collects several autobiographical songs including “He’s Gone” and “Carolina,” recorded between South Carolina and Tennessee, and establishes a world in which Blake Whiten explores homesickness, breakups, and personal faith. With “Made For Goodbyes,” released via Warner Records, he continues this aesthetic of rural imagery, melancholic melodies, and narrative songwriting attentive to detail.
