Ryan Castro

Born in 1994 in Bello, Antioquia, Bryan David Castro Sosa grew up in the Pedregal neighborhood north of Medellín, an environment that directly informs Ryan Castro’s identity. His trajectory started in rap, freestyle and dancehall before evolving into melodic reggaeton and Latin hip‑hop marked by street rhythms, sung hooks and a delivery close to spoken word. Ryan Castro began to gain notice from 2017 with “Morena”, after singing in buses and later in bars and clubs, and increased his visibility in Colombia with “Lejanía” in 2020. He went on to establish himself on the Latin urban scene with tracks such as “Wasa Wasa”, “Malory”, “Monastery” with Feid, “Mujeriego”, “Jordan” and “Quema” with Peso Pluma. His path also includes collaborations with Blessd, Karol G, Bad Gyal, De La Ghetto and producer SOG, with whom he released the EP Los Piratas in 2022, the same year Reggaetonera came out. In 2024 Ryan Castro released his first album, El Cantante del Ghetto, extending an aesthetic centered on contemporary reggaeton, neighborhood codes and songs conceived for both the club and the stage.
