Between Maryland and Los Angeles, Dijon has built a career as an American singer-songwriter at the crossroads of alternative R&B, folk, and independent pop. First active in the mid-2010s as half of the duo Abhi//Dijon, where he explored electronically tinged R&B released primarily online, he then moved toward a more organic solo approach focused on voice, songwriting, and collaborative playing in the studio and on stage. His first releases under the name Dijon were self-produced singles, followed by the EP Sci Fi 1 in 2019 and How Do You Feel About Getting Married? in 2020, which established a sound blending folk guitars, R&B rhythms, lo-fi textures, and prominent vocal arrangements. The 2021 album Absolutely continued this approach, emphasizing vocal intimacy, dynamic shifts, and a near-live spontaneity. In his lyrics, Dijon focuses on intimate relationships and everyday tensions, and he has gradually found his place within the circuits of independent venues and festivals where American indie, soul, and folk scenes intersect.
