Leon Thomas
Born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1993, Leon Thomas trained early in musical theatre and television before gradually steering his career toward music. After appearances on Broadway in productions such as The Lion King and Caroline, or Change, and in teen series on Nickelodeon, Thomas simultaneously developed a contemporary R&B- and soul-oriented songwriting style, marked by intricate vocal harmonies and a taste for cinematic atmospheres. Established as a singer-songwriter and producer, he co-founded the production duo The Rascals with Khris Riddick-Tynes, through which he penned tracks for American pop and R&B artists including Ariana Grande, Drake, and SZA. As a solo artist, Thomas released the EP Metro Hearts in 2012, showcasing a fusion of R&B, pop, and hip-hop influences; over the years he honed a more introspective sound, blending soul ballads with mid-tempo rhythms. His debut album, Electric Dusk, released in 2023, extends this aesthetic by playing with contrasts between intimate songwriting, references to classic American cinema, and contemporary R&B production, confirming Leon Thomas as a singer, songwriter, and producer on the American music scene.
