The Army, The Navy

Born from the long-standing friendship between Maia Ciambriello and Sasha Goldberg, The Army, The Navy took shape between Mill Valley, California, their years studying at Loyola University in New Orleans, and a later move to Los Angeles. The duo crafts an indie folk-pop centered on interwoven voices, stripped-back melodies and short-form songwriting, with an intimate tone rooted in songcraft. The Army, The Navy began to circulate widely from 2023 thanks to posts on TikTok, before consolidating their path with the EP Fruit For Flies in 2024 and then Sugar For Bugs the same year. In 2025, The Army, The Navy transitioned to the live format with a first headlining tour in North America, followed by dates in the UK and Europe, while opening for artists such as Matt Maltese, Paris Paloma, Dora Jar, James Arthur and Joy Crookes. This progression continued with Fake Brave Life, released in 2026, which places The Army, The Navy in a more pronounced indie folk-pop register, balancing melodic softness, a gentle tension and the duo’s vocal chemistry.
