Hailing from the Ottawa region of Canada and identifying as a non‑binary artist, Leith Ross began sharing songs online in the 2010s before gaining recognition on the North American indie folk scene. After a formative spell in Toronto, they recorded the acoustic EP "Motherwell" in 2020, a project where family memories, religion, and personal reflection intersect. Ross followed with a run of minimalist folk singles, including "We’ll Never Have Sex," which went viral in 2022 and marked a shift toward writing centered on queer intimacy and consent.
