Sweet Pill

In Philadelphia, Sweet Pill took shape in the late 2010s out of the American emo and post‑hardcore scene. Centered on vocalist Zayna Youssef, Sweet Pill has developed a sound that blends taut guitars, shifting melodies, rhythmic breaks and songwriting where emo, melodic punk, alternative rock and touches of math rock coexist without excess. A first EP, Starchild, appeared in 2020, and Sweet Pill released the album Where the Heart Is in 2022, which further defines this balance between tension, melodic clarity and shifts in intensity. Active on the American independent circuit, the band belongs to a generation that revisits the codes of 2000s emo, tightening them into direct formats driven by expressive vocals and nervy arrangements, with a steady presence on rock, punk and alternative stages.
