Strawberry Guy

Born in Caernarfon, Wales, Alexander Morgan Stephens developed Strawberry Guy in Liverpool, where he settled after studying at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. Initially a keyboardist with The Orielles, he launched this solo project in 2018 with indie-pop songwriting informed by bedroom pop, dream pop and a light psychedelic pop, driven by supple keyboards, melancholic melodies and intimate production. Strawberry Guy released the EP Taking My Time to Be in 2019, the same year the track “Mrs Magic” circulated widely online before reaching a broader audience via TikTok. His debut album, Sun Outside My Window, arrived in 2021 and continued this soft, cottony aesthetic — lo-fi pop, airy harmonies and songs centered on voice and keys. In 2023 Strawberry Guy returned with the EP F Song and Mrs Magic (Strings Versions), offering a more stripped-down reworking of two songs from his repertoire.
