bôa
In 1998, the British alt-rock band bôa unveiled Duvet, an airy, melancholic song that achieved cult status through its association with the Japanese anime Serial Experiments Lain. Powered by Jasmine Rodgers’s distinctive voice, the track became a symbol of sensitivity and introspection. More than twenty years on, Duvet has found new life on TikTok, captivating an entire generation of new listeners. The song’s viral success — over 450 million streams on Spotify — has put bôa back in the spotlight and brought the trio of Jasmine Rodgers, Alex Caird, and Lee Sullivan together again. After a hiatus of nearly two decades, during which each explored other avenues — studies, painting, teaching, music production — the band is making its grand return with Whiplash, out October 18 via Nettwerk. Conceived as a notebook of emotions and memories, this third album evokes personal turbulence and the upheavals of the contemporary world, blending gentleness, tension, and luminous melodies.
