Vacra

Active on the French scene since the early 2020s, Vacra has developed an urban song format where melodic rap, pop, Afro influences and highly imagery-rich French-language writing intersect. He began to attract attention in 2021 with 'Plan Séquence' and broadened his audience in 2022 with 'Tiki Taka', a track that firmly established his world with a supple voice, sung choruses and productions driven by danceable rhythms. His trajectory then took shape through several projects that clarified this aesthetic: the EP 'Galatée' in 2023 and the album 'Pygmalion' in 2024, where Vacra steered his songs toward more personal and introspective formats while retaining the Afro-pop and rap influences that run through his repertoire. In 2025 he continued this progression with the EP 'En Attendant Paphos', followed later that year by the single 'Paphos'. Among recent collaborations, 'Quasimodo' with Kalash Criminel demonstrates a dialogue between his melodic approach and a more frontal writing style. Through these releases, Vacra is part of a generation of French artists blurring the lines between chanson, rap and Afro-Caribbean music.
