Jimmy Sax

Under the name Jimmy Sax, French saxophonist and composer Jim Rolland develops an electronic-music project that places the saxophone at its center. Trained on the saxophone and a multi-instrumentalist, Jimmy Sax has crafted a style that blends melodic house, deep house, instrumental pop and jazz inflections, featuring memorable themes and extended improvised sections. Spending part of the year in Saint-Barthélemy, he has established himself on stage through live performances alongside DJs, in clubs and at international events across Europe, North America, the Middle East and the Caribbean. His concerts rely on direct interaction with the audience, a dance-oriented aesthetic and a mix of electronic energy and acoustic timbres. The musician also develops more orchestral formats with the Jimmy Symphonic Dance Orchestra, which transposes his repertoire into a symphonic setting. In parallel, Jimmy Sax appears in media projects—most notably as a jury member on the Italian TV show Iband—consolidating an activity that spans performance, composition and collaborations within the European electronic scene.
