Danny Bryant
Born in Royston, Hertfordshire, Danny Bryant developed an early guitar style rooted in British blues, with songwriting that leaned toward blues rock and the genre’s more soulful forms. He began playing as a teenager and turned professional at 18, later forming Danny Bryant’s RedEyeBand, a trio featuring his father Ken Bryant on bass. Throughout the 2000s he built his stage and studio career with records such as Watching You! (2002), Shadows Passed (2003), Days Like This (2005), Black and White (2008) and Just As I Am (2010), where electric blues, taut ballads and classically-tinged rock intersect. Signed to Jazzhaus Records in 2011, he then released Night Life: Live in Holland (2012), followed by Hurricane (2013), Temperature Rising (2014) and Blood Money (2016), which marked a shift toward a more direct, personal sound. In 2014 he also led Walter Trout’s band on a North American tour during Trout’s convalescence. Since then Bryant has continued to perform in clubs, at festivals and on European tours with Revelation (2018), Means of Escape (2019), The Rage To Survive (2021) and Rise (2023), in a register where vocals and guitar remain central.
