Anthony Gomes

Born in Toronto in 1970, Anthony Gomes has, since the late 1990s, built a repertoire situated between blues rock, southern rock and soul, driven by direct guitar playing and a gritty vocal delivery. The son of a Portuguese father and a Franco‑Canadian mother, he first released Primary Colors in 1997 and followed with Blues in Technicolor in 1998, an album that helped launch his touring in the United States and Canada. Later based in St. Louis, Missouri, he continued his career with the Anthony Gomes Band on North American and European stages, in a lineup rooted in electric blues but open to stronger rock colors.
