Yorssy

Between Saint-Jean-de-Braye and the Saint-Marceau neighborhood in Orléans, Yorssy developed early a rap rooted in everyday life, marked by clear diction and a strong sense of melody. Born in 2001 as Yohan Batekela, he released his first tracks as early as 2018, notably “Mutakaka”, and then shaped his universe with the freestyle series “Détente” from 2021, with “Détente 5” widening his visibility. Yorssy’s rap shifts between laid-back passages and faster flows, blending contemporary French rap with sung choruses over instrumentals often centered on rhythmic energy and nocturnal atmospheres. In 2024, his participation in season 3 of the Netflix show Nouvelle École, where he reached the quarterfinals, exposed him to a broader audience — notably thanks to the track “CRF”, later certified diamond single, while “Racks” achieved gold single status. The same year he released his first EP, “Road Trip”, on AntiF 134, which includes tracks such as “Ayia Napa” and “Détente 7”, before embarking on a tour in Canada. Maintaining a dynamic of collaborations with various rap artists, Yorssy continued in 2025 with several singles including “Milli” and “Cherry Wood” and a new EP, “ADN : pt.1”, confirming the central role of EPs and singles in his progressive approach to building a discography.
