I Hate Models

The French producer and DJ I Hate Models explores a techno that is both raw and melodic, nourished by rave aesthetics, trance, EBM and touches of industrial. Emerging from the French scene and noticed from the mid-2010s, I Hate Models has built his trajectory through a series of EPs on labels such as Arts, Monnom Black, Khemia, Voitax and Perc Trax, which established him on the European club and festival circuit. His music is characterized by high tempos, acid lines and synth washes full of nostalgia, playing on a constant tension between frontal energy, dark romanticism and melancholy. In 2019, I Hate Models released his first full-length album, L’Âge Des Métamorphoses, on Perc Trax, where he expanded this universe into more narrative forms while remaining rooted in dancefloor-oriented techno. Through his label Disco Inferno, launched the same year, I Hate Models has developed a more personal framework for his productions, articulating a visual and sonic imaginary marked by themes of memory, escape and obsession.
