Shlømo

French producer and DJ based in Paris, Shlømo is part of the contemporary techno scene, developing an aesthetic that is both hypnotic and emotionally charged. He first came to prominence in the early 2010s with a series of maxi singles oriented toward deep, atmospheric techno. He quickly structured his activity around the Taapion Records label, which he co-founded to release his own productions and those of a closely aligned generation of artists. Over subsequent releases his work shifted from dark, mental techno toward more open forms, incorporating faster tempos, ambient textures and melodic elements inspired by IDM. The album “Mercurial Skin,” released in 2019 on Taapion, synthesizes this tension between meditative pads, pronounced basslines and fragmented rhythmic constructions. In parallel, Shlømo has developed side projects aimed at a more upfront, rave-oriented register, often in a duo format, extending his exploration of trance and club energy. Present on numerous stages across Europe and beyond, he alternates between DJ sets and live formats, adapting his repertoire to contexts ranging from intimate clubs to electronic-music festivals, while maintaining Taapion as the central platform for his production work.
