Nico Moreno

Based in Caen in Normandy, producer and DJ Nico Moreno develops a radical techno that blends hard techno, industrial sonorities and rave energy. Active since the second half of the 2010s, he has stood out for a fast, percussive approach focused on massive kicks, repetitive patterns and fragmented vocal samples, designed for warehouses, clubs and free parties. Creating his own label, Insolent Rave Records, allowed him to structure his releases and assert a direct aesthetic where gabber references, dark atmospheres and the codes of contemporary European techno intersect. Through EPs and singles released on Insolent Rave and other specialised labels, Nico Moreno has refined a sonic language that favours rhythmic efficiency, abrasive build-ups and minimalist breaks. Present on many stages in France and internationally, he belongs to a generation of producers oriented toward high tempos and a raw sound, while adapting his sets to different contexts, from clubs to large gatherings. His productions thus function as an extension of his DJ work, with dancefloor-oriented writing that relies on tension, repetition and the physical impact of sound.
