Alex Kassian

Between Kyoto, where he is originally from, and Berlin, where he is based, Alex Kassian has built a career as a producer, DJ and musician nourished as much by the club scene as by composing for contemporary dance and theatre. His music occupies a flexible electronic register — between melodic house, ambient, downtempo and Balearic touches — characterized by precise arrangements, subdued rhythms and organic textures. As a solo artist he has released on labels such as Love On The Rocks and Utopia Records. He also forms the duo Opal Sunn with Hiroaki OBA, active since 2017, a project that led to the creation of the Planet Sundae label. This parallel activity — between solo productions, duo work and DJ sets — has taken him to perform across Europe and Asia, in both club and festival contexts, with appearances at venues such as Panorama Bar.
