MT. JOY
Emerging from Philadelphia’s indie scene, Mt. Joy formed in 2016 around songwriters Matt Quinn and Sam Cooper, later joined by Michael Byrnes, Jackie Miclau, and Sotiris Eliopoulos to round out a quintet straddling the East Coast and Los Angeles. The band first made its mark online with the single "Astrovan," before shaping a sound that threads indie rock, folk rock, and psychedelic touches, driven by melodic guitars, prominent keyboards, and storytelling vocals. Their self-titled debut, "Mt. Joy," arrived in 2018, followed by "Rearrange Us" in 2020 and "Orange Blood" in 2022, extending a body of work focused on balancing pop songwriting, Americana influences, and more expansive, jam band–adjacent forms. Onstage, Mt. Joy stretches its songs into extended versions and moves from clubs to major festivals, often touring alongside North American indie folk and rock outfits.
