Trikk

Born in Porto in 1991, Trikk has, since the early 2010s, carved out a trajectory between techno, house, experimental electronic music and an IDM legacy. The Portuguese DJ and producer first appeared in 2012 with the releases Wat U Do / All This Time on Con+ainer and Jointly / I Fall Down on ManMakeMusic, followed by the Basement Traxx EP in 2013 and Deeper Point / Houx 93 / Bliss Drive / Straight Circles in 2014 on Truesoul. His discography then shows a turn toward a more oblique compositional approach — marked by broken rhythms, percussive textures, hazy atmospheres and less linear structures — evident on EPs released by Pets Recordings, Optimo Trax, Lossless and Innervisions. On the latter label he released, among others, Florista / Mozam / Veneno / Wardance Dub in 2016, Mundo Ritual in 2017 and Vilara / Devila in 2018. Trikk therefore sits within a European electronic scene where the club format remains central, while maintaining a production approach that is more textured and fluid than strictly functional.
