Bleeker
Formed in the early 2000s in Orillia, Ontario, Bleeker originally brought together two pairs of brothers around a guitar-driven rock sound influenced by hard rock and alternative. Performing as Bleeker Ridge, the band gradually made a mark on the Canadian scene, playing club shows and opening slots, and released their first studio album Small Town Dead in 2010, followed by Four in 2013, which combined direct riffs, classic influences and more melodic choruses. The group later shortened its name to Bleeker and refocused its identity on a tighter alternative rock, led by Taylor Perkins’ vocals and Cole Perkins’ guitars, while maintaining a rhythm section geared toward stage effectiveness. With Erase You, released in 2016, Bleeker honed this shift toward more pop-rock structures without abandoning the energy of their early years. Regularly appearing at festival stages and on North American rock tours, Bleeker favors immediate songs, compact arrangements and a contemporary rock aesthetic accessible to a mainstream audience.
